Chavez was in a coma in the middle of the desert in the middle of nowhere, Texas, and the hospital contacted his brother, Walter, to pick him up. Discharged from the hospital, Chavez remained silent until he saw a sign that read "Paris, Texas". Back at his brother's house in Los Angeles, Chavez met his son, Hunter, who was not receptive to the sudden arrival of his father. Later, Chavez won the boy's heart in a very special way. Through exchanges, Chavez learns the whereabouts of the child's birth mother, Jane, and father and son embark on a path to find his mother.
