Film Introduction
Chile at the beginning of the 20th century. A wealthy landowner hires three cavalrymen to demarcate the boundaries of his vast landholding and blaze a route through Patagonia to the Atlantic Ocean. The expedition, led by a British lieutenant and composed of Chilean mestizos and American mercenaries, soon becomes an assault on "civilization".
