ignorance in one's mind
Directed by Huang Jin Written by Chen Chor-hang
Dong, who suffers from bipolar disorder, is sentenced to Castle Peak Hospital for accidentally killing his mother, who was suffering from pain, and after recovering, he stays in the cubicle of his father, Huang Dahai, who works as a land port driver. Huang Da Hai tries to care for his son, but Dong does not appreciate it. It turns out that Dong has always held a grudge against his father for abandoning his family back then. The two guilt-ridden men are crammed into a cramped room where they can barely breathe. When Tung rejoins the society, he is discriminated against by his friends. He tries to calm himself down and at the same time tries to find Jenny, whom he once talked about and was almost engaged to, but he never expected to find Jenny in a different way. What sinks his heart is his home, what weighs on his shoulders is his yoke, the simplest of relationships, the most complicated of entanglements. A father and son sitting in front of each other under a dark roof, a family portrait of modern life, crying, smiling, hating and loving each other.
