Adapted from the series of novels "Love West Lake" by Mao Dun Literature Prize winner Wang Xufeng, the film is set against the backdrop of one of the ten scenic spots of the West Lake, "Wenyingying", and focuses on the emotional entanglements between two girls from the Yueju Opera Troupe of Jiangnan and a painter in the 1990s. The two girls, a gifted female student, and the flower girl, Yinxin, have known each other since they were young and grew up in the troupe together, with very different personalities, but they are like sisters. They are very different, but they love each other as sisters. Tu Tu is very passionate and lives for the stage, while Yinxin seems to be a simple and naïve girl, but in fact, she knows how to get ahead and get out of trouble, and she knows how to make money. They are the most important person in each other's eyes, but the world is unpredictable and all sorts of differences arise, especially the appearance of the Hangzhou painter Gong Wushan, which makes the two girls who depend on each other fall in love and kill each other. As the times change, Yueju Opera goes from strength to strength, and the fates of the two girls rise and fall together with Yueju Opera. At the end of the show, when she looks at the world, the one she can't let go of is still her.
