Film Introduction

The life of a family of three changed when the father, Wei Ming, was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. On the surface, the peaceful family is shrouded in gloom. Mom Muling carries the burden of the family, but is not understood by her father and son. The son, Yiming, receives an acceptance letter from an American university, but does not dare to tell his parents. He knows that it is not easy for his mother, but he does not want to show too much concern. The quarrels between his wife and son make Weiming realize that he has become a burden. The confused family goes back to the island to visit the graves, but the original graves are long gone. After a typhoon, Wai Ming discovers an uninhabited village in the mist. The abandoned village is still inhabited by Wai Ming's brother. The brothers, who have been at odds for many years, come to a lonely tree on the hillside, and his brother tells Wai Ming that his mom and dad are buried under the tree, and then disappears. As the fog clears, Weiming makes a choice that will change the fate of his family.
