pass through Zhaoguan, a gateway to Guangdong
Directed by Huo Mang Written by Huo Mang
During the summer vacation, seven-year-old Ning was sent back to the countryside to be taken care of by his 77-year-old grandfather, Li Fuchang. Li Fuchang happened to get the contact information of an old friend who had suffered a stroke and his days were numbered. He decided to take his grandson and ride a motorcycle tricycle to visit his old friend thousands of miles away. On the road, the grandfather and grandson meet a disillusioned young man, a cranky middle-aged truck driver and a lonely old beekeeper. During their encounters with these people, the grandfather and grandson engage in a philosophical conversation about "death" and "memory".
