Eight-year-old MaoMao is a hat acrobat in the rural Green Grass Acrobatic Troupe. Maomao's parents are divorced and work outside, and Maomao lives with his grandmother. Mao Mao's dad remarries and Mao Mao misses his mom. Coincidentally, the acrobatic troupe is going on a tour to the city where his mom works, and Mao Mao especially wants to go, so he can see his mom and perform hat tricks for her.
