Film Introduction
New French director Antoine Husbak's new film, the first of his Social Stages trilogy, about an unemployed middle-aged man who can't find a job and is step-by-step depressed to the point of wanting to commit suicide, is bereft to the point of hitting bottom. The script and overall narrative pacing is excellent, like a hybrid of Steven Busse and the Dane brothers on a dramatic and thematic level.
