Film Introduction
After dropping out of her university's agronomy program, 21-year-old Nica returns to her hometown of Apulia, southern Italy, after a three-year absence. She finds her father in debt, the land devastated and the olive trees almost destroyed by parasites. Everyone seems to have given up in the face of this great ecological disaster, and her father is obsessed with cutting down the olive trees so that he can receive compensation to get by. Nica does her best to save these ancient trees, but people's minds seem to be polluted as well, and she will face unexpected obstacles ......
