The Ice-Fired Lands

创作阐述

This is a story that discusses "born but not raised". The two main characters in our movie, the female prosecutor and the juvenile delinquent, are both using different ways to heal the damage brought by their families of origin. Two eras and two story lines are intertwined in parallel, just like two times and spaces that are not completely closed. This kind of narrative art is not to show off, but to better serve our theme: similar tragedies happen in every era, when can people introspect themselves? We chose to shoot this story in the intersection of desert, Gobi, grassland, and salt mines, not to attract attention with visual spectacle, but to accurately convey to the audience the mood of the movie, which is a hint of warmth in the midst of despair.

故事大纲

Fang Jianqing is a People's Prosecutor. When his mother was pregnant with her first child, a boy, the family was so excited that his father named the unborn child "Fang Jianqing". In an accident, the mother was traveling through the desert when a strong sandstorm blocked her way to the hospital, resulting in a miscarriage. In honor of her first child's untimely death, the name "Fang Jianqing" was carried over to her second child, albeit a girl. Fang Jianqing grew up with this name, and her demeanor was more like that of a boy. She wore her hair extremely short, and did not like red clothes but loved to be armed. Although she was still young, subconsciously she felt that this seemed to be more appealing to her father. The arrival of a new child brought joy and hope to the family, but there was always a shadow hanging over the family. The parents feel that they don't even deserve to be happy because of the guilt they feel for their last child. The only salvation is to build a highway through the sand, hoping that no one else will be buried in this "sea of death". They left Fang Jianqing in the care of his maternal grandmother, so he became a real "left-behind child". The experience of searching for her father in her childhood had a deep impact on Fang Jianqing. When she took the college entrance exam, she gave up the popular finance major and enrolled in law school, aspiring to become a prosecutor to punish the evils of the world and maintain justice on earth. In her work, she received a juvenile delinquent, she devoted all her passion and care to help this juvenile delinquent, not to the juvenile delinquent behind but hides a shocking secret ......
