The story chooses to take place in the south, in an ancient city of Southern Fujian culture, where there is a custom called Zhongyuan Pudu, a very unique festival. While everyone shuns the Mid-Yuan Ghost Festival and minimizes going out, the people of Southern Fujian have a big feast to invite friends and relatives. They worship their ancestors, pay homage to ghosts and spirits, and give alms to orphaned souls. It is as if in the flame of burning clothes and paper, the gap between humans and ghosts has been bridged. The streets of the old town are narrow and lined with traditional red-brick buildings. Young people have moved to the new district to live in the buildings, while many foreigners from different places have moved here to work. The mix of people from different classes and backgrounds, and the clash of cultures between old and new living habits, provided enough nutrients for my story. On a hot summer day, a few strange fires burned the old city of southern Fujian to a state of panic. Chen Zhongwei, a fire investigator, takes on the important task of ensuring that the case is solved quickly, but who is the real culprit behind the truth of the arsonist. In the old street of the small city where migrant workers gather, high school physics teacher Qin Shenghuai has a wife who has been paralyzed in bed for many years. At home, he has been hiring a beautiful and capable nanny, Su Meiling, who is running around to pick up his daughter from his hometown to attend high school in the city. More than ten years younger than her air-conditioning worker Wang Dongsheng adores her mature and sexy beauty, but her charm is more than only Wang Dongsheng understands. Strange fire after strange fire, is it a natural disaster or a man-made disaster? Pudu night, flames and ashes floating in the air, the streets become narrow; theater on the stage to beat the city play is being staged, strange accents wandering in every corner of the city. Xu Zhiyong: Currently Vice President of Chinese Pictures. He is originally from Quanzhou, Fujian Province. He used to work for Bona Film and Huan Ya Film, where he was in charge of investment and development of films and dramas, as well as production and distribution.
