创作阐述

This is a movie about the search for identity, which comes from my attachment to my family, my perception of the land where I grew up, the Yi culture, and the question that has been with me all my life - "Who am I? "Who am I? For me, this movie is about a shattered identity and what it feels like to be uprooted after years of being away from home, no matter where you come from. You gradually lose touch with the roots that provide meaning and energy to the whole tree, which is what I call the 'Bardo' (void) state. I was familiar with this feeling and placed a very personal emotional experience in the movie in order to capture what seemed to me a rather universal theme that the character of Jiang Yi was experiencing. I believe it is possible to show this claustrophobic inner level with clarity. Ultimately, what we're exploring here is this connection to roots, and can it be traced? How should we define "root" in the true sense of the word? In the case of Jiang Yi, it is about the courage to search for the truth and whether the truth is important or not. With the current issues of "searching for personal identity and feminism", I hope that through this real experience, I can project into a larger social context and present a work with a clear genre and aesthetic expectations.
