The Shanghai Opera "Ball Mountain Woman" is based on a true story of a single mother, Wang Meihong, who works as a mountain worker to raise a blind disabled child and a pair of dragon and phoenix babies. The prototype of the story, Wang Meihong, is a rural woman at the foot of Qiyun Mountain in Xiuning County, Anhui Province. 17 years ago, Wang Meihong's husband died in an accident, plunging the family into a desperate situation, and in order to raise her three minor children, she resolutely took up the job as a mountain worker, which is intimidating to men, and carried the burden of supporting her family and raising her three children on her frail shoulders.
