Direction and editing of "No Name

Award Comments:

The editing of Nameless disrupts the timeline of events, re-inverting, grouping and collaging the storyline into a new narrative structure, with meticulous logic and precise control, enhancing the film's sense of suspense and the audience's sense of immersion, and mobilizing the audience's sense of participation by setting up ambiguities with metaphorical meanings in the non-linear narrative.

The Unknown Film Introduction:

In the 1940s, Shanghai was in a period of insularity. All forces are intertwined, with names and without names, influencing the course of history from different standpoints. Mr. He (Tony Leung), the director of the 76th Secret Service, a nefarious agency that serves the Japanese imperialists at the behest of the Wang government, is a smooth talker who navigates his way between the head of the Japanese Secret Service, Watanabe (Hiroyuki Mori), and an opportunist, Minister Tang (Roc), whose smile seems to have a deeper meaning than what it says. Secret agents Mr. Wang (Wang Chuanjun) and Mr. Ye (Wang Yibo) are close friends who take orders from the political powers that be, and a few Japanese corpses start to turn their fate. Unable to bear the weight of the revolution and the threat of death, Mr. Zhang (Huang Lei), a former member of the underground party, suddenly defects, and his defection intensifies the bizarre situation.
