Film Introduction
In 1981, the newly-built, supposedly unsinkable rescue boat RF2 sinks during a rescue mission, killing nine people, and the captain of RF2 is blamed for the accident, so his son Henrik begins an investigation. However, Henrik is resisted by the town's fishermen, who fear that the investigation will affect their livelihoods, and by the authorities, who fear a public scandal. At the same time, grief grips Henrik's family and tears at the bonds of kinship.
