Days and Nights in Tin Shui Wai
Directed by Ann Hui Screenplay by Lui Siu Wah
Zhang Jiaan lives with his mother. Jiaan is an ordinary student who has taken the exams for the Chinese New Year, and is a filial and well-behaved child who is not good at secondary school, but does not learn from his mistakes. Zhang's mother is also an active worker, selling fruits and vegetables at a supermarket. Leung Huan is an old man who has just moved to Tin Shui Wai to live in the same building with Ka On and her son, and was introduced by Cheung's mother to work in the supermarket. Cheung's mother and Leung Huan have a neighborly relationship and become good friends as they help each other from time to time. Cheung Ka On, Cheung's mother and Leung Huan, like most Hong Kong people, leads an ordinary life, but the human touch is revealed in their slice of life.
