All the dead.
Directed by Marco Dutra, Setano Getado Produced by Sarah Silveira Written by Marco Dutra, Setano Getado
In Brazil in 1899, shortly after the abolition of slavery, the spirits of the dead still roamed the earth. For the women of the Soares family, giving up privilege and adapting to middle-class life brings them to the brink of madness. For the formerly enslaved Ina Nascimento, reuniting with a loved one in a hostile new world forces her to face her true self. Between Brazil's troubled past and its ruptured present, these women cope with the dramatic changes in their destiny while trying to create their own futures.
