Cheung Hing Kee, a Cantonese sweet soup store in Kowloon City, was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Cheung Hing and Sau Lien thirty years ago, and has become famous in the neighborhood for its red bean paste. Their eldest daughter, Chengye, aspires to fly and becomes a flight attendant, while her younger brother, Jichang, is a carefree college student. After her mother suffers a sudden stroke and becomes a vegetable, the whole family is thrown into chaos. Unable to bear the burden of her father's labor, the stubborn Chengye quits her job and returns to the store to help out. His macho father does not appreciate this and his mother's absence makes it difficult for the three of them to get along. With the redevelopment of Kowloon City, the real estate developer issued a repossession order, and "Cheung Hing Kee" is facing a crisis. Meanwhile, her Canadian boyfriend, Yuxiang, proposes to Chengye, hoping to move to Canada with her. What will happen to Cheung Hing Kee and Seung Yip amidst the current of the times?
