Film Introduction
Set in 1979 Singapore, The Big Wind Blows follows a middle-aged architect as he faces change and disconnect in his 45th year. Sidelined in the workplace by his lack of English, Lim Cheng Soon feels equally out of place in life. While facing his wife's unexplained departure, he must also adjust to his aging father's new arrangement of moving in with him, forcing him to face up to years of pent-up resentment over his father's preference for his younger brother. Architect, husband, son - Seung-soon, stripped of all his identities, struggles furiously in the twilight of his life.
