Film Introduction
In late 19th century Shanghai, a green house is filled with love affairs, jealousy and tension. The prostitutes live in an ornate cage, though seemingly ensconced in luxury, and are forced to work to redeem their freedom. One of the regulars is the taciturn Boss Wang, whose relationship with his longtime mistress, Shen Xiaohong, faces collapse after an act of betrayal.
