Film Introduction
Antonina is an artist from St. Petersburg who follows her husband, a political prisoner, to the deep northern provinces of Russia. When she begins teaching art at a local school, she finds herself opposed by a 12-year-old boy, Misha, whose brother is the feared leader of a local gang.
